I'm looking to buy an A4 in the coming months and was wondering if there would be any benefits at all to getting a 2.0T engine over the 3.2. I already test drove a 3.2 quattro and love it but haven't driven thee 2.0T because I was turned off by the four valve engine. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

 

The 2.0T is a 2 liter engine. The advantage of the 2.0T over the 3.2 is that a) its a turbo and generates boost which is just plain fun and b)you will be able to mod it more. A chip alone will get you equal or more power than the 3.2 and your 0-60 will be better due to that and the weight difference.

by four valves do you mean cylinders? .. yes the 3.2 has 6, but the 4 cylinder has a turbo tell all the 4cylinder motors in the world that.. they will laught.. esp zx's making 500WHP.

the 2.0T is cheaper, more modable.

 

^^^^^what he said get the 2.0T and if you do get a red T model youll see why. as for the cylinders there are 5 valves for each cylinder lol

 

I actually just bought an A4 with the 2.0T and an A6 with the 3.2. Stock out of the dealer the 3.2 has got more power and is quicker off of the line.
If you plan to do mods than I agree with the other replys, the 2.0T will be more fun and quicker. If you plan to stay stock I would consider the 3.2.
Drive both at the dealer and you will see.

 

The 2.0 and the 3.2 only has 4 valves per cylinder, actully ALL FSI engines only have 4 per cyl

They had to make room for the fuel injector
