Just picked up a used A4 Ultra sport. I think it's a great car & would like to improve upon the weak spots. I have a few questions before I move forward with the following mods:

1) Do I need to instal a boost guage with an APR stage 1 or 1 plus chip flash/upgrade?

2) Short shift kits? What do most people like?

3) Want to upgrade the brakes, but don't know what the cost <vs> performance is between a stop tech big brake kit and say upgrading to A8 rotors, better pads, and stainless lines.

4) Not sure if I'll mess with the suspension, but how much can the car be dropped without turning the car in to a filling loosener?

I plan to keep the stock 18's on the car.

1) You do no NEED it, but it helps alot it boost leaks/vaccum leaks, and general diagnostics

2) I have a B&M an like it. Also Neuspeed, V&S, I think UUC too.

3) Just do the A8 upgrade, only time I think you would need stoptechs is with substanially more HP.

4) Depends on your budget. Buying some nice h&r or vogtland coilovers will let you adjust ride height and wont be too harsh of a ride

How is the reliability of the apr stage 1 plus?

Came from an 03 evo (one of the best braking cars)...how will the A4 braking compare with A8 rotors, stainless lines, and upgraded pads?

I understand the two cars will have different performance traits and am fine with that becuase it is give in take in different areas..... but I would like to have a rough comparison so I know what to expect.

Is is necessary when upgrading coilovers to add a meatier sway bar?

I'm doing all the research now, so that any mods are done once and done right. Sorry for any lack of knowledge.

u can come pair the EVO to the A8s
the EVOs are 4 piston big brakes while tghe A8 is a just a larger One piston brake system
APR stage 1 is a good

 

just go big turbo

 

If you upgrade the rear bumper, I'll buy it.
