Default 02 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro

Wats going on guys... I bought MY CAR about a month ago and I love it. I end up racing random people on the highway and love the way it handles. I've been browsing around the forums and noticed people refer to their cars as B5/6/7... I'm wondering what that is and what MY CAR is. I really want to mod the the look of the car first before I start modding the performance. I was just wondering what you guys thought I should put on MY CAR? I LIVE in NJ but my life is still in NY so dropping or body kits are a definite NEGATIVE. I was thinking black on blue. You know BLACK TAILLIGHTS, Black Tints, BLACK RIMS, Angel Eyes Headlights, and 8000K Xenon HIDs...

Let me know what you guys think.

I'm still curious about what model my car is (B5/6/7?)
oh and I'm pretty sure my car came with stock HIDs, so can I just buy Xenon bulbs or do I still have to get the conversion kit?

Thanks in advanced guys
Carlos

for north america b5 is 96-01, b6 is 02-05, b7 is 06-08, b8 is 09+

you have a b6. read my newbie guide for mods and other stuff- https://www.audiforums.com/m_700266/tm.htm the one's you listed sound good except for the angel eyes. they belong on bmw's, get some ecodes. and just so you know, there's very little you can do to add performance except a supercharger for the 3.0.

Thanks man I just finished reading your guide... a lot of info there, great job. I guess a chip upgrade is the only thing I'll do after all the exterior mods.

What are ecodes and what about my HIDs?

yeah, i would get a speedtuning chip and exhaust and call it a day on performance, then put the rest of the money into making it look sexy and handle better. make coilovers and a rear sway bar your first suspension mods, you will fall in love with the car all over again.

i have no idea about HIDS and all that stuff, since i haven't done it yet myself.

yea I was looking at the Neuspeed Chip and the Neuspeed Exhaust.

Do you think the rear lights I plan to get are good or do u have another place I can get better ones?

Also can u get me a link for the sway bars?

I found some coilovers on the same site as the headlights.. if you don't recommend those then which ones?

If you chip go with www.speedtuning.comthey claim about 20hp gain nad it costs a lot less than neuspeed or giac. That chip got good reviews for the 2.8 V6 so your 3.0 should take to it well too.

welcome fellow 3.0 owner! purchases my A4 around 2-3 weeks ago!! i have 6000k hid's in my headlights, its a full hid conversion kit,but im taking the headlights down today to clean the projectors, they are super dirty. the only other thing i have done so far is put on the In.Pro chrome side view mirror caps, looks pretty good.

i think the way to tell if you have stock HID's is by looking to see if you have a headlight dimmer. its a little switch next to the headlight switch. you can also tell when you first turn on the headlights, you will notice the lights getting brighter as they warm up if they are hids.

Hmmm interesting... I don't know about this particular chip.... according to chaos92287's guide a cheap chip gives u cheap performance. I definitely want a chip.. but a GOOD one. I mean if anybody has this chip and can vouch for it then i'll consider it. I feel restricted at 130mph lol anyway.

I also need a tip chip. does anyone have a link to where I can get one?

Thanks for the welcome! I did a little testing with my lights and I'm pretty sure they are HIDs... what I'm NOT too sure about is if their Xenon HIDs or not. I want to install the 8000k Xenon HIDs but I don't know if mt headlights are compatible... when u put in your HIDs did u BUY the conversion kit or did u just buy the bulbs?

Thanks in advanced
