02 A4 1.8T - Vibration Problem. Need help urgent!
Bought this 2 months ago with 28.000 km on it (17,500 miles) and having this vibration problem:-
1. When the car is idle at Drive gear, there is a very strong vibration. Vibration is gone when the gear is put at Neutral or Parking. I have my rubber engine mount, the two "oil filled" mounts (supported the 2 sides of the engine) and the transmission rubber mount all changed. The vibration is still there.
2. Another vibration is when the car is travelling above 100 km/h (60 miles/h) and it will not stop even it is at 130 km/h plus (80 km/h). The vibration comes from the steering wheel as well as the dashboard. Even the seat is vibrating. Also the vibration comes when the car is accelerating (stepping on the gas pedal) and is gone when my foot is not stepping on it! I have my 4 wheel balanced. Then followed by the 2 front tires changed. Problem still remains.
3. When the car is passing a bumpy area at high speed (around 50 km/h), I hear a squeaking sound from the trunk! Would it be the suspension problem from the back and does it related to the vibration problem?
Desparately need advice from all of you!

1. Check for vacuum leaks. Could also be a problem with the trans thou. Most likely vacuum leaks.
2. Front wheels are probably out of balance.
3. Lube the rear seat hinges. Make sure the rear seat bottom is tight. Also dont rule out the posiblitly of something inside the trunk causing the noise(tools and jack).

rough IDle is a sign of a bad plug or CP, do a tune up plugs onlyand the wiresand see if that helps adn if not buy one new CP and switch out one at a time, till the orugh idle stops, and if not. Then we are back to square one.

need an alignment or you throught a weight on one or more of your tires, or your tire was mounted wrong when it was changed. easist thing to do jack up car look at weights and see if you have any, you deff will all wheels due. and losen all the bolts and retighten using the cross bolt tech.

a bad alignment can make the car shake at speed, but not at idle your right. So now your looking at Igniton coils Coil packs and Plugs and wires as possiblities. unless its a bad motor mount.
