running too rich....sounds like a recirc problem. if he were sucking in air from somewhere else where the MAF weren't reading it wouldn't he be running lean? call me crazy.

Not accusing ,just asking. From what you posted it sounds like you installed it right. Plus there is a website that tested some diverter/BOV valves and said it did matter if you installed it backwards. Maybe it's the springs.

I'm not familiar enough with the A4 to tell from the pictures posted, but there are two 25mm hoses running to the stock valve. The original poster installed the 004 in one and a 25mm plug in the other... are they correct? That is to say does he have the 004 connected to the TIP and the 25mm plug connected to his charge pipe?

Should have instaled it on the inlet manifold side and dumped or better still just pluged it off out of the loop so it was still there but not doing anything.
I run a Baileys twin piston on the inlet side for nearly two year without any issues but then I do not have the resiviour thing you guys have to have so it made life easy.
Here's some pic's of whats going on under the hood not great pic's but you will get the idea.
