Default "Right Dipped Headlight" - NEED HELP!

A4 Owners:

Im having theproblem right now with the "Right Dipped Headlight" display and my right light turning off and on during travel.
Sometimes if the light flickers enough and comes on and off, it will eventually turn that light off completely, displaying the bulb with a X through it on the display.

Does anyone else have this problem???

I took my car into audi and told me it was because of some of the aftermarket components I have in the car. All i have is a starter/alarm , sub amp and in dash dvd player.

Audisaid that they wont be able to do anything for me without the light staying off.

Audi's appempt to fix the problem came up with the following correction description:

SCANNED OBD ADN FOUND SPORADIC FAULTS- 01800 LIGHT SWITCH
-E1- INCORRECT SIGNAL, 00576 TERMINAL 15. ELECTRICAL FAULT
IN CIRCUIT. 00884 IGNITION/STARTER SWITCH -D (TERMINAL X)
ELECTRICAL FAULT IN CIRCUIT, 01744 IGNITION/STARTER SWITCH-D
(TERMINAL P) ELECTRICAL FAULT IN CIRCUIT. ALL SPORADIC FAULT
CLEARED ALL STORED FAULTS. FAULTS MAY BE CAUSED BBY AFTER-
MARKET REMOTE START. IF CONDITION RETURNS VEHICLE WILL HAVE
TO BE RETURNED TO STOCK IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE COMPLAINT.

Any suggestions anyone???

I have exactly the same problem with my A4 2004. The dealer even completely replaced the headlight unit without solving the problem. They also exchanged the height controllers in the unit without success. Are they any other options left? I saw somebody suggesting a grounding problem.

If somebody knows anything, please let me know!

Thanks,

What starter/alarm combo did you have on that car?

I have the Arctic Start RT2W900FMR (3000). I wonder if it has to with the brand or how the electical systems are setup in the A4.

All stuff in my car is original Audi. No special starter necessary (I am living in Holland, wet and warm in the winter)

So if anybody knows something to solve the Dipping Headlight , please let me know!

I am thinking of selling this car completely after all the problems I have experienced, so any help is really appreciated !

You might have to set up a separate relay and switch for the headlights.
Get the voltage directly from the battery.

Hey I got a copy of a invoice someone used to fix the problem. Do you think If I were to go to Audi they could use this to get warranty to reimburse them if they did the overhaul?

is there any valid reason why Audi has not made this a recall? Im driving the other night and my right light dips then goes out and before I can reset the lights, the left one dips and goes out...so and Im driving for at 300 yards in darkness until I can get one back on. Im sorry but this is a design flaw with these cars becuase headlights dont have to be this complicated.

This should be a complete recall immediately before someone gets killed.
