Default Windshield replacement--Several ???s

Hi there.

I have a few "spider" dings in my windshield, and I am wondering if it makes sense to replace it. My insurance will cover it, but I always worry about replacing a manufacture windshield with a generic replacement. Has anyone had any experience with this? Can I demand an Audi windshield? I also have the smart mirror and am concerned that it won't attach properly to a new windshield.

Any advice from anyone who's been down this road would be most appreciated.

Thx.

I maybe wrong but sometimes with the upgraded rear view mirrors andauto dimming headlampsthe sensors are built into the glass. So you would have to get Audi glass. At least that was the case on my benz. If that's not the case, I don't see any issues. Glass is glass and they will install weather stripping to prevent any leaks.

One thing that you sould be careful of your car is your glass. You might wanna try asking the car maker about it or your mechanic. You don't wanna experience neglecting you never consulted any regaring those wind shields like what happened to me. Good thing, those car parts I purchased online was of low cost.
