Thinking of trading in my A6 for an A3

RE: Thinking of trading in my A6 for an A3
Thanks guys for all your replies. I got my A6 appraised at CarMax today and they said they will give me $14,500 for the car. I got it for $17,000 in March. This the kind of financial loss I am not willing to take at this time. My A6 still looks new and shiny on the outside, the interiors are immaculate and I have new tires on the car. I know for a fact that it has been serviced at regular intervals and well maintained by the previous owner because I have the records. My colleagues envy me for driving a car that looks like new but cost me only about 1/3rd its sticker price ($41,435 + taxes).
I am sure the A3 is an awesome car too which I would like to own at some point in the future. I especially like the 2.0T with its good gas mileage and fun factor (easy to mod). I think I am gonna wait for a year or so, see what new models of A3s come in (maybe a Quattro?). Hopefully when the Quattro is introduced, the prices on the 2 wheel drive older 2.0T models (2006, 2007) will drop and make a much better buy at that time, not to mention I would have paid off some money on the A6 by then.... :-)
All this infatuation with the A3 started with this 2006 A3 Moro Blue Pearl Effect 2.0T CPO for $26k with 23k miles on it at a local Audi dealer, which I thought was irresistible.....what with the extended Audi CPO warranty (6 yrs, 100k miles), free scheduled maintenance and everything. But better sense has prevailed and I am gonna walk away from it. Please don't be hating on me guys, at least I still drive an Audi!

Definitely no hating.
Congrats on thinking through your decision and coming up with the best solution for you, especially since it wasn't what your heart desired. That's the part of being an adult that sucks, but it's the most important thing we can do. What sucks for you, is if you keep making rational decisions like that, then you'll be married before you know it. Women are looking for a man like that. You need to go crazy occasionally just to keep them off-guard. LOL
Don't know why I typed that for you, but it's true.
Cheers!
