Sport springs on standard shocks

Sport springs on standard shocks
I wanted to get the group's opinion. I'm looking to stiffen up my ride a bit (drive quality over aesthetics) and I'm considering replacing my standard springs with the S-line sport springs, and keeping my shocks. Since the drop isn't that drastic do you think it will put unnecessary pressure and therefore wear on the stock shocks? My wife has a Cooper S 07 and I love the ride/handling on that car, if even it's a little too stiff. I don't know anyone else with an A3 much less with a modded ride - so I have nothing to compare too.
Maybe the question should be - are there any A3 groups that meet in Socal?
Thanks,
Dave

RE: Sport springs on standard shocks
There are a TON of people on here, Fourtitude A3 forums and Audiworld that are in SoCal. Check them out on those places too.
You're welcome to try mine out if you're up in NorCal. Just got my ride back with Bilstein sport shocks/struts and H&R spings. Noticeably stiffer ride but not to the point of it being uncomfortable at all. It rides a little stiffer than my old BMW with factory Sport Suspension option but I suspect that I need to give it a few weeks to settle/loosen up a bit to make a more accurate assessment.

Koni FSD and Sport Springs. Short of going the coilover route, this is by far the best setup out there. If you look at the $3000 and up (!) racing suspensions from KW, HPA et al, they have a setup for what they FSDs do automagically, and for 25% of the money.
