shifting (automatic)
I was doing some drinking Sat night, so my senses werent that great.
I had to move my A3 out of my driveway and street park it temporarily. So, I did that with no problem but when I tried putting my automatic shifter **** in park, it wouldnt budge. I though the **** was stuck, so I was kinda going back and forth, back and forth, with the **** but it wasnt shifting to park or anything else. Just reverse and drive, but not park.
So, I finally realized it was on "D" but +. So, the shifter itself was moved to the right. Basically using the + and - functions. Same sense as using the DSG paddles on my steering wheel I guess.
I must have shifted the **** to the right without noticing I did.
But I got a bit nervous, thought something was wrong with my gear shifter. So to this I ask, since I was going up and down with the shifter and hitting nothing, could I have messed anything up? After I put the shifter back to regular "D" position by moving it to the left, it was fine.
My senses werent great that night. I realized it after about 2 mins of going up and down with the shifter ****, saying to myself "what the heck is going on here, why cant I put my car in PARK?
I dont think I caused any problems by doing this, its not like I was forcing the shifter **** much.
