Paint got on my car... HELP

RE: Paint got on my car... HELP
Sorry for the delay. Just saw this. I think I can help too.
A guy at work actually had his car vandalized by kids and a bright yellow spraypaint. It was all down his door and front quarter panel on his shiny VW Blue Beetle. He really takes care of his cars, so maybe the wax helped. But he got it off! Here is what he told me;
He went to a local paint store. (PaintMart) They recommended a Spray can of pre-solvent cleaner. Can't remember the brand or type, but it is what you use to clean a car before you paint. He told my friend to spray it on a cotton terry cloth and then wipe the paint, using a new section of terry cloth each time you wipe some paint off. It was amazing that he got it all off.
If he can do that, I bet you can get your drips off. Wish you luck!

Sorry guys, I couldn't help myself. Is there an official "drunk" post for us A3'ers?

RE: Paint got on my car... HELP
Start with 3M general purpose adhesive remover - a mild solvent used for removing wax, grease, trim adhesive, etc. prior to painting. Give it a bit of time to work, stay out of the sun. Other manufacturers have similar products, weaker and stronger. I personally, faced with this situation, would go by my favorite body shop, and ask somebody what kind of paint it looks like, and what best to remove it.

No, don't use a credit card. You'll scratch the paint. Better off to use the appropriate solvents and cloths designed for the purpose. I personally would just take it to a very good detailer and let them get it all off.
Cheers!
