oil change on A3 - do it yourself?

RE: oil change on A3 - do it yourself?
Some of us own a 2006 A3 and don't need to spend the extra $500. I believe ANY dealer will charge you for the oil service if you change at the 5k mile interval. That is outside the recommended interval. The additional 5k mile change is CHEF's plan, not Audi's.

Yes Chef, let me tell you this is my second car i purchase where i miss the year they include the service or when they decide no more loaners just the rental. My wife's E320 we got 2 years ago new and they just changed the loaner rule to rental only D/O 50,000.00 dollar Benz and leave in a Kia.
When i got the A3 last year Audi switches their loaner and service contracts, i guess that leaves BMW that still has both of those services for their customers, and maybe lexus. Anyway i still love the car

This thread helped a lot thanks guys. I have an A3 due for oil change. The engine light is set to about 3\5,000 miles. Howdo we reset the computer? Does it automatically know when its service?
