I'm new. Get my black 2.0 on Wed. OMFG.
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. My black s-line 2.0 comes in on Wednesday and I'm giddy with anticipation.
I'm already dreaming of things to do to it. This is going to be fun.
Bryan.

How To Spend Your First $100 in Upgrades.
1) Put a thousand or so miles on the car before you do anything, so you have a baseline
2) Set your tire pressures at 35 lbs all around
2) Order a 'dogbone' bushing from ECS Tuning: $40. Launch Wheelhop = 90% Gone. Huge #1 must do before anything else
3) Order a set of 20mm Prothane Motion Control 19-1119-BL rear swaybar bushings bushings from Summit Racing: $10.95
4) While you're there order a K&N KNN-33-2888 Air Filter: $47.95 . Mine was good for about a 4% improvement in mileage (1 MPG) and it's lifetime, you'll never buy another air cleaner.
5)A spare can of Mobil1 synthetic oilfor the trunk.
You 'll need a socket setwith a 23mm socket and torque wrench for the ECS bushing, as well as for mounting the the rear swaybar bushings.
What you'll notice:
1) Dramatically less wheel hop on launch from the ECS Dogbone Bushing
2) Better turn-in and line tracking from the increased rear roll stiffnessof the poly swaybar bushings.
3) About 1 MPG better fuel economy, which also means a little more power, because your not using up power to suck in air.
OK, now you some low-cost tweaks you can actually feel the difference in. If you don't have the tools or just want someone else to do the work, figure on about an hour of shoptime. It's one lift andone bolt plus a little mallet time to drive the dogbone home, and 4 bolts and a little teflon grease (supplied) to beef up the sway bar.
Those modswill make enough difference in your car to keep you amazed for sometime, while you decide on other upgrades, like coilover suspensions, wheels and tires, chipping and so on.

Congrats - it's a great car! To add to what panzrwagn wrote: All good suggestions - but... of all my mods, the dogbone insert was by far the biggest PIA to install. I agree that the benefits are worth it, but keep an extra jack handy to get that little thing in!

Congrats BMC.
I also just recently got mine - but it's not an S-line. Kind of wishing I had made the jump up at this point. Would the 'dogbone' mod or motion control bushings be helpful on a non-S line setup? Forgive me if this question has an obvious answer.
Thanks,
DCC

Same, here, I just got my '06 2.0 on saturday, awesome little car, I can't believe i can finally say i own a german car.
thanks for the tips on the upgrades, I have to keep those in mind. As far as other upgrades go, I'm going to be doing a bit of commuting, any tips for upping the mileage?
