How about an A3 2.0T and a TT 2.0T? Diversity.

One of my brothers has a TT (his second) and the other brother has a Passat W8 6-Speed wagon. For my purposes, the TT is too small and the Passat is too big, and the A3 seems to be just right. That said, Wifey will probably opt for a silver A3 2.0T Premium/DSG while I'll probably opt for a Titanium S-Line/6-Speed, so that's probably diversification enough. Yes, no? [8D]

Nope, I'm thinking Lava Gray or Misano Red.

I saw a Misan Red A3 2.0T (no Open Sky) on the highway last weekend and it looked really good. I'm not a big fan of red cars unless it's a Ferrari or a Porsche, but the A3 just looked really good in red. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that this car was super clean. I have a lava grey myself and its an easy color to keep clean. Dust and any blemishes to the paint show up less.

Thanks, that's good to know. Living up here in New Hampshire, we have our share of dirt to deal with on the exterior of our cars. I've been leaning toward the Lava Gray anyway (classy and understated).

...A 2007 A3 was over $150 per month less to insure than my 2003 IS300... I thought this must be a mistake as it didn't make any sense, low and behold (at least with Allstate) the A3 is classified as a station wagon and the IS a sports coupe... thus, the huge difference and why I ended up choosing to go with the Audi.

...Also, if you havent already... get a insurance quote on the IS
I was amazed that insurance for my '06 is only $5/month more (with State Farm) then my previous 1993 325i! The insurance difference would just about make up the price difference compared to the 2002 IS300 Sportcross that I was also considering. Not that i was buying just on price...
