Before bashing a few pointers: 1- checked out the search function and was not able to log into it. Kept pushing me out so I was unable to search.
2-Googled it and no definitive answers. Could not come up with an adequate search key word. 3- Just want your opinion on te subject 4- If its has been done before, you can eliminate the thread no problem no regrets

Here goes...I have an 07 DSG equipped A3 2.0T. Tranny oil hes never been changed. It has 115,000 miles on the clock. The car has been mostly women driven on the highway to commute to work. My question is, and I'm sure it has been covered before, should I change the oil even though it has high mileage? I have shade tree mechanic friends (deals mostly VW cars) that recommend it. My dealer does not. Tranny professional shops do not also recommend the change due to mileage and slippage possibilities.

What’s your take on this issue? I bought the car used at 80k miles and have been afraid to do it avoiding possible gearing slippage or something since I know it should have been done at 40K.

the DSG has slippage problems if you change the oil at high mileage? never heard about that. what's the bigger evil?? won't it be worse if you continue to leave it unserviced?

 

The other evil would be gearing slippage. But DSG are different so I dont know. Just traded in my A3 last week. Hurt my feelings but had to do it since it was pretty beat up. Thanks anyways.
