Condensation gunge on oil filler cap A3
I have got condensation gunge under the oil filler cap on my A3 ..07 Reg..special edition. Granted there are days when only short journeys are inevitable, but would be grateful for advice /ideas and action I should take.
Car performance excellent, no oil in coolant.
The only thing that might have to be taken into consideration is that the vehicle had very little use for 3 months after it's service at 14,000 miles. Total mileage is now 16.500.....
Any advice most welcome...

What however might you advise if that doesn't work? or --put it another way-what shall I tell the dealer to check--since I am trying to avoid a conversation with a defensive service dept along the lines of them saying "They all do this--it's normal" , "never do short runs" , "we will check it when it next comes in for a service" sort of unhelpful delaying tactics.....

If that's the 2.0T FSI engine, the "grunge" is the primary indicatror of a problem with the PCV system, which has been the subject of numerous updates. I believe that VW/Audi is up to Rev. F of this part, which is attached to the intake manifold. It is relatively easy to get to. Eurojet makes an aftermarket inline valve that helps, too.
Here's a good blog describing the problem and solutions:
