Default air con controls

Hi all,
Pretty dumb question, but recently got an A3 with dual control air con e.g. each front passenger can control their own air con temperature. Can you tell me how I can control BOTH temperature settings using the drivers side dial....it's a pain trying to keep them in synch when I'm in the car on my own...which is most of the time.

Can't find any indication of how to do this in the car manual.

Thanks!

Brutus

ECON button/slider, never use the AUTO as it costs more to run the car

Thanks, so you mean by clicking the econ button the drivers dial should then control both the settings for both sides?

Sweet.

Thanks,

Brutus

The ECON button merely turns off the A/C compressor; you should be able to hear this in a quiet environment, you notice that the noise from the engine bay gets quieter. In other words it is similar to a "Fan Only" setting in some other cars. However, if AUTO is still on (indicated by the light) the A3 will still attempt to get to the temperatures set on the dials. E.g., if both ECON and AUTO is lit, there will be more FAN bars if your car is parked under the sun than if it was park is a nice, cool, secluded garage.

I'd like to know too!

When I first got the car, changing the driver's side's temperature also changed the passenger's temperature... It was like that until I changed the passenger's temp, and now both are independent of each other.

Tried the econ button - it doesn't allow the driver side to control both settings. I had a similar situation before scipher, I pressed a button and all of a sudden I could control both sides, THEN a couple of days later my wife decided to change her side and it's been out of whack ever since.

Anyone know how to fix this?

you gotta hold the auto button
then switching the left side will switch both
to deactivate just switch the right dail

lol
it was pretty irritating when i first got my car figuring this out
so i just messed around with the buttons at the light =)
but man
summer is here
and our litto air con is really not strong enough
i usually put it into the "interior wind only" button so it gets colder
and also just a litto advice
even if you put the wind on low without air con you will just end up giving yourself like instant heat lol
i rather open the window
