Wow... this have turned into a political and racial debate between french, canadian and american..
Anyways... I also have raced turbos obviously, the new Focus ST has the engine of the Volvo C40 ( %cylinder, 220 hp, Turbo) And is doing the same times in the 1/4 mile than me...Also had raced Seat`s but I dont think you dont have those over there, but they are Audi turbo engines with a little extra power (example, the 1.8T engine its on their Sport cars with 180 hp to 225 Hp, and the new 2.0TFSI its being used in their latest sport model but with 240 hp)
Also Renault ( FRENCH brand! haha...I think...) has a 225 Hp hatchback that in oficial numbers its supposed to be way more faster than the A3 but it is way more slower than the A3...I guess Renault lied a little bit ...
Yes there is a red GTI from a friend of mine...He is standard and makes .2~.4 seconds more than me on the 1/4
I will post some more videos later against N/A sport cars and also Turbo ones

It's funny that no matter what is originally posted, the thread takes on its own life after the first 3 posts. The question is originally answered in the first few posts, the rest of the time is spend chatting.

We were discussing high altitude racing until Chef got us going the wrong direction about the 15 and 19th reply to topic poster. Ok we all like to have a bit of fun, and it was fun but now back to business as Chef says!

You must be referring to the Megane Sport – the special Clio is less than 200 hp. The Megane Sport is supposed to be a little faster than the A3, not really a lot faster so beating it, especially with a DSG should not be very tough. Plus I hate Renault.
I know Seat. The latest Leon is not bad, actually a very good price/performance but I was never impressed with the overall quality of Seat and I used the term performance loosely.
The newest Focus ST actually looks promising but we are far from the Escort Cosworth – those were beasts. The RS version with 280hp is not going to be available until next year; the ST is at best on the same line as the A3 2.0T. The engine on paper looks so great, 5 cylinders 20V 2.5l with Turbo, (why Audi are you not making 5 cylinders like you used to???) but the actual performance of the car are close to the A3 2.0T – here again the DSG will give you an advantage.
Note - I am obviously comparing stock to stock.
You never answered my question – where are you located? I am going to have to see this for myself one of these days.

Yeah the Megane sport...it was supposed to do 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds but it just doesnt do...Even manual GTI`s win agisn The megane..
Im in guadalajara...the dragstrip is located at Hmnos Gallo Racing circuit...If you go to Mexico DF for sure you will see this, DF is higger than guadalajara
The ST is also supposed to be faster than the A3 DSG (GTI DSG) In paper says it does 0-100 in 6.7 and the diference is very little...its .80 more or less faster than me at the dragstrip
