Nope. Don't like it.

I will just have to go with a turbo later on.

There are a couple of tuners in Germany supercharging the 3.2 in the new TT which is a prettysimilar drivetrainI think... They were getting crazy hp out of that engine and supercharging is a great alternative to a turbo where you can get a very linear torque curve...

Do a search on www.europeancarweb.com , they had a supercharged TT article a couple of months ago... they were comparing itto the R8 so it must have been pretty nuts....

If I can just get the tune they used or the "chip" I should be able to duplicate the amount of boost and whatever other supporting mods they used like intake and bigger fuel injectors.

I bet I can put it together for half of what they charge.

On my current vehicle I am running an Eaton M62 supper charger with 42.5 lb fuel injectors and an after-market tune. GM was selling all the parts as a kit but I just bought all the parts from varies sources and bolted them on myself... all I needed to pay for from GM was the tune. And that I got pirated from a friend with the same car and mods. I ended up putting it all together for about two thirds the cost.

S4... What is the MSRP on those?

MSRP on a new S4 is about $48k... not much more than a 3.2L A3 + nearly $10k turbo kit. Or you could get a ballin' B6 or B5 for quite a bit less (B5... 2.7 bi-turbo... *wood*)

I think I am going to find out what the VW R32 guys are doing.

I am sure I can make 300 HP for less than 12k... I bet I can do it with 4k. I have a lot of learning to do about this power plant though. This is my first car that is not a Ford or a GM...

Found a centrifugal Supercharger kit for $4500 good for 320 hp.

http://www.eurosportacc.com/supercharger.htm

I am sure with exhaust it would be a little higher still.

I need to find out if I can just buy the tune off of them and get my own supercharger cheeper elsewhere.

I would for sure find a air to air IC like off of an STI or EVO to stick on there as well. That would help with the dependability and add a few ponies to boot.

First thing I am getting a good exhaust.

I have read that some of you do not like this particular SC kit. You believe the high compression ratio does not lend itself very well to boost. I hope that by installing an inter cooler I will be able to curb any knock retard I may get from running too high of compression with boost.... but 6 lbs of boost is hardly anything to get too worried about IMHO.

FYI, that's the old VF SC for R32 Mark IV. VF is currently working (for about a month, recently finished their intake. Will be test fitting one in about a month on an A3) on a Turbo kit for the Mark V. So that software will not work on you A3.
