Hey Canuck! (I'm Canadian too )

For the break-in period too...I also suggest a few hard stops to set the brakes...I've read that they can glaze and then cause squeaking if you are too gentle on them. I put my through a few aggressive stops and never heard a peep from the brakes!! And you're right, keep a close eye on the oil for the first 10k.

Haven't bought the TT yet... but I have decided I will! I'm going to wait for the 2009 model, then see what the cost is of the 2.0T quattro. Also I've heard they will add the LED lights that all the new Audi's have...so gotta hold on for a few months! But flying back this morning from SFO I kept dreaming about the TT!

I was down in Malibu last week...and was nearly overcome...First I came up on a meteor grey S5....first time I have ever seen an S/A5 on the road! WOWOWOWOWO! And just as I was getting over that...I looked at the car the S5 was following...a silver R8! wowowowowowowowowow!!!

Still going TT...the A5is perfect for North American highways...but I think the nimbleness of the TT and the 2.0T make it the best choice for Taiwan!

TPE_A3, glad that you decided not to buy an Impala! Thanks for the info onbrakes. I have read a few threads about brake squeal, so this is good info.

Good luck with the TT! California has always been awash with wonderful cars. And it rarely rains (unlike Vancouver), so cars stay clean! Have read your posts about pricing in Taiwan. Glad someone pays more than we do here!

CanuckA3...

I did the math...after I use a TT for 3 years here...the price after depreciation...I can take that money and go buy a new TT in Canada...and that's assuming the CDN dollar stays so high! Appreciate those car prices !! Taking an A3 up to Lake Louise or somewhere would be a sweet sweet treat!!

Just drove my car...we are all so spoiled to own A3s!! After all those rental cars, finally something that drives!!! Thanks Audi!

I have been told by several people that the A3 is overpriced here in Canada. I feel better after your comments about Taiwan.....but still can't believe the price difference between Canada and the U.S. given the dollar is more or less at par.

I amplanning my annual road trip to the Rockies as we speak.
