my AUDI A4 is a dud, pls help
I bought an A4 convertible with great exterior and interior conditions aesthetic wise. I bought it for $4,100 off of craiglist without checking the history of the car. The mileage was around 96,000 then. After a week of driving it, I noticed the engine was shaking a bit too much. The mechanic ended up fixing the head gasket and something connected to the transmission. That costed $2,400. It was running nicely, but I didn't want the car anymore. I took it to CarMax and it was appraised at $2,000 because the history showed the mileage was changed and there was a difference of about 30,000 miles. I really got cheated on...
A month later after putting in $2,400, the car started to stall. We couldn't accelerate nor reverse. After letting the car cool for an hour, it would work normally again for only a little while. Our mechanic said we need to replace the transmission and that would cost around $2,000.00 with a used part. The dream car became a financial nightmare.
I've been putting it on Craigslist for the longest time and hoping to get $2,500 plus out of it after putting so much into it. We let the interested party propose a price instead of us offering a price. In the end, those folks were flaky and didn't even end up showing. It's still on sale... I don't know what to do to get the most out of my money. It's sad to junk it for only $300 or so..
Please input any ideas.
