FS: 98 A4 2.8- 5spd-AWD- BLack on Black
Hey All-
this is a copy of my craigslist post. This car needs SOME work, but drives as is. I would be willing to be way more neg with forum guys. Thanks!
Overview: I am selling a 1998 Audi A4 - black on black leather which is fully loaded. 130,xxx miles, 5-speed tranny, 2.8 30v V6- Bose sound system, AWD, 6 disc changer, power windows, sunroof, power mirrors, cold AC/Great heat
The Good- new clutch last summer, feels strong and shifts nice. 2 New sport tires about 2 months ago. new paint done by pro body shop 6 months ago (car was keyed in the city) I have always had regular synthetic oil changes and keep up on the fluids. The exterior of the car shines up great with no major dents, rust, or scrapes.
The Bad- After a winter in the city, the car needs new front control arms. These go bad on audis just from normal pothole/poor road conditions. I have several links to site where you can buy the parts for around 200-250. It also has a check engine light which i was told was from a bad O2 sensor. I have been driving like this for about 4 months now with no problems or loss of fuel economy. A new set of brake pads are needed within the next 2 months (about 100 dollars for parts) Finally, there is a whine in first gear which has been there for about 5 years. I had it professionally checked out at an Audi dealer and they said it was a worn gear tooth, but will not have any affect on the cars performance. Like i said, after 5 years, i have not noticed any increase in noise or tranny complications and decided it wasnt worth the money to fix a part that isnt going to break.
What i can do for you- I do have access to a mechanic, and would be willing to have all the work (besides the tranny) done for FREE!!!! I have already cut the price drastically compared to other postings due to the need of some parts. My mechanic friend was going to do the work anyways before i decided to sell it and still is willing. I will pay him whatever he wants and you will not have to worry about it. Eitherway, the car is 100% driveable right now (i am still commuting with it)
The reason: The reason i am selling this car is i got a new job and have a really bad commute. I want to sell the car and get a motorcycle to cut down on the hassle of traffic. I just dont need a car in the city anymore
Payment: I accept cashiers checks, cash, or paypal
