$4950 - This rare high performance Audi was the start of Audi's current "S" line of cars meant to compete with BMW's "M" line of cars. Only 150 Avants were imported, plus perhaps 1700 sedans. This car has been my personal car for the past 10 years. Immediately on purchase I installed H&R sport springs, Bilstein sport shocks, a TAP chip and K&N air filter, resulting in an honest 300 HP 5 speed station wagon that will run with the Porsches. One DE outing at Watkins Glen proved this. The car has not been tracked since, just used as a fun daily driver.

We recently converted the brakes from the somewhat troublesome UFO style to conventional disc brakes from a later model Audi. The head was rebuilt at 77,000 miles, and I have all documentation on other service since my purchase. It comes with the original spoke BBS wheels with Blizzak snows and a set of S4 alloy rims. The A/C is non functional, and there is a bit of rust starting at the rear of the front wheel wells, but otherwise the car is in very good shape. The paint is original, still looking good, as is the interior with leather comfort seats. An upgraded stereo is installed, but the original working radio is included.

This is the last of the big body Audis and a great car for the enthusiast for not much money. It will be delivered with a fresh NY State inspection.
