Any offers? I need to sell this car. \
I would also consider trades for a 99-04 Mustang GT coupe (not convertible) with manual transmission if any of you bychance have one.

Hello, I'm here not to buy but to ask you of your opinion on your purchase of the 2001 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. I' m thinking about buying this same vehicle but black and I curious as to your thoughts and opinions on the vehicle. I've heard conflicting stories about this vehicle, mostly good, but people complain of electrical problems, timing belt issues around 70-80k miles, and expensive upkeep. The electrical and timing belt issues is what concerns me the most. Did you have to have any of this type of work done on your vehicle? Did you buy it new or used? If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Scott.
Thanks,
Scott.

pretty much all audis have timing belt replacement requirements of 80-100k miles 100 being max, if its over 100k and the service has not been done then expect to do so rather quickly after buying the car or your "trip to the grocery store" could wind up costin yah about 5 grand at a minimum i would say if the timing belt snaps

Hey, fyi my car is sold now...
Prior to selling it I went to Audi to see if they could find out if the timing belt had been changed. They said they have no records. I told him I bought the car with 102k and it now had 108k miles. He said, "It was most likely done because it would have popped by now."
As for looking for a car, I'd reccommend listening for any irregular noises, including suspension and wheel bearings, and engine knocking. See if the car pulls to one side or another, it could be very pricey to get an alignment if the tie rods are frozen, I had that problem once. Also listen and make sure the transmission shifts smoothly. Good luck in finding the car for you!
