2001.5 S4 - Unmolested and very clean
Hey folks, I'm putting my 01.5 tip up for sale.
It's bone stock & very clean. The only modhas been to the fog light relay. As for the lowdown on the details, I'll lay it all out. This car came from Utah. The previous owner bought it new for his son and initiallyhad it in his name...eventually the son put it in his name. So I am the third owner on paper butphysically I amthe second owner. I have the window sticker too. I bought it at an Acura dealer almost a year ago. The OEM wheels were removed and replaced by the Audi dealerwhen it was brand new for some reason and the previous owner did not acquire them. Why is this important you ask? Hell...I don't know. haha
I've been having wheel trouble due to the crappy roads around here so I have an old set of aftermarkets on it now pictured below, which were on it when I bought it,Ihave had all 4checkd out and straightened if they needed it. I put a new set of tires on it but I screwed up and put Perellis and they are so noisy they sound like a set of gumbo mudders at the moment. It rides decent though and it handles phenominally. I've been told that finding quiet tires for all Audi Quattro's can be tricky. Anyway I have a set of B6 A4 5 spoke wheels that I had on it for a short whilebut again, they fell victim to a pothole, this one so bad the wheel was unrepairable. So i guess I should say I have 3 of those.
As for the way it runs and stuff, it is great. As I said above it is completely stock. It still has the stock DVs and they are fine for the most part with just the occasional shutter, mostly when it's cold when you shouldn't be into the turbos anyway. Tranny shifts perfect. There isa slight smell of burt oil coming through the vents some of the time like there is a leak somehwere. It doesn't smell all the time and it doesn'tleak oil on my garage floor so I don't think it's a bad leak. I had it checked out and at the same time i had to have the oil temp sensor replaced, the dealer said the smell was probably due to that. It hasn't gone away and it's been a couple months since the sensor was replaced.
The exterior body is great, there is one very small ding on the driver's door just below the side molding. You dont see it unless you know it's there.Therefront bumper cover has thenormal nicks on it from driving, nothing major. I painted the front intercooler grilles black to make it stand out a bit. I used (and don't laugh) off the shelf bed liner spray. It is extremely durable and it has a nice texture to it. I know it sounds strange but it really looks nice and it holds up great with the day to day road debris.
Itcurrentlyhas 82k on it so according to the other threads around here it's due for a t-belt service but I hear mixed opinions regarding when it should be done. I think the manual says something like 105k or something like that.
Oil changes @ 3k(MAX), etc...it has been well cared for.
Interior -light gray napa leather - Excellent shape - the previous owner had a dogand it apparently liked the chrome shifter panel a lot. There are tiny claw marks on it. I don't mind it though, it's not that bad.The driver's interior door handle has a few scuffs on it where the previous owner had rings or something that nicked it up when they closed the door. Could've been the dog.
It has a Sony head unit with an ipod convrter in the glovebox. It allows you to control your ipod with the radio's controls and it also charges the ipod too. I have a 10' explode sub in the trunk. It really sounds nice with the bose amp/speakers. The head unit has red background that matches the rest of the lights, it looks nice. Bad thing is you lose the radio display in the instrument cluster.
So I know "this thread is useless without pics"...I have one in my sig and I'll take some all around it tomorrow and post them. I have had this car for about a year now and it has been pretty solid the whole time. The only thing Ive had to do to it is replace one front CV boot, one upstream O2 sensorand the oil temp sensor.
I am letting it go because I am racking up miles on it with this new job I have and I hate to watch the value slip away so fast on such a nice car. Not to mention I am going to get a 4 banger (maybe a B6 6spd) that I don't mind putting the miles on so much and of course, gets better fuel mileage. I am in no hurry to sell it because I do love the car. I'm just tossing it out there to seeif there is any interest in it.If someone wants to buy it though, it's gone.
I am asking $12,500.00for itand I am open to reasonable offers. Ihate tobore you with NADA and KBB crap but to those who actually care, the average retail value as stated by them is about $13,400.00. Yuo guys know what they're worth. I may entertain the thought of a B6 A4 1.8T 6 speed trade, and it MUST be a 1.8 6 spd. Mileage is not an issue as long as it's in decent shape.
Send me a PM or email me if interested and/or have questions. This would be an excellent project car.
Thanks,
Rob
Oh by the way, I am located in La Grange Kentucky, which is about 15-20 minutes east of downtown Louisville & about an hour south of Cincinnati on I-71.

Well folks I've been busier than expected with a TUV audit at work. I'll get more pics up soon.
Also when I found this S4 I was looking for a 6 spd as well. This was the only one for sale within a 100 mile radius at the time, along with a B6 S4.I drove both andI chose the turbo obviously. I did a search on Autotrader and there still aren't any sticks nor tips for sale (on autotrader) within the same 100 mile radius. They're all over eBay but they're too far away.

Yeah, I have been searching for 6-speeds for a while now. If I were to buy this car 2 or 3 years ago I would have had no problem buying a tip, but now that there are affordable (sort of) I don't want to settle for a tip.

Hey folks, I think I'm just going to hang on to this thing. I simply love the car, even thought it's a tip. It's in great shape and while looking for a stick myself, I cannot find one even close to the condition as mine.I wanted to see if there was interest out there but no one wants a tip. I appreciate the responses.

Rob
