Default 1990 Audi 100, 86k, needs brake work; Cambridge, Ma

For best offer:

My 1990 Audi 100, Automatic, 86K miles, needs to have the front brakes redone, and perhaps 3 or 4 calipers replaced (stuck). I had the car sitting during winter and the calipers rusted, which has caused premature brake wear and the front brakes need to be redone. It is now at the shop. My mechanic says that it's fundamentally a sound car, but I think it's more trouble than I want to put into it. The initial work required to make it safely driveable would probably cost at least $1000.

It's blue, heated seats, power windows, power sunroof, in good exterior and interior condition. When it's in good running condition it's a fine car and has a really nice heft to it. My father had the car and then I took it over about 6 years ago.

There are some other minor things (one lock, occasionally a slight leak in the power steering fluid, and the antilock brake light is on), which I'd be happy to run through with you if you're interested in the car.
