Symphony II radio beep

I have a 2004 Audi A4 with a Symphony II 6 CD in dash changer.
My problem is with a warning tone on the radio - When the reception starts to deterioate, the stereo makesa loud beep to warn you that the station you're tuned to is going out of range (like I couldn't tell!). Normally this is not a problem, but I have just bought a Belkin Tunebase for my ipod. This works really well, except that the odd crackle here and bit of interference there sets off this beep on a very regular basis. This become tiresome pretty quickly.
Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off this warning beep?
Thanks in advance!
