Sorry if this has already been asked, but.
I have a 2003 UK Spec A4 TDi S 130PS Quattro.
two weeks ago, i got in the car, and the climate control kicked in as required, but a bad.bad.bad smell came from the vents.
i thought a local farmer was fertilizing the fields, but this smell came with me for over 30 miles.
I call into my local Car Spares, and got a freshener to help.
the smell had gone completely the following day (not because of the freshener, but it just stopped)
Last night, i filled up the A4 to the neck with diesel, and parked her up.
This morning, the smell had appeared, even with the freshener on full.

Help..
I used to be a Mechanic for VAG AUDI in 1994, and I have a 12mth warranty on the A4 because I bought it from a dealer.
Anyone else had this problem. I do NOT want to drive the wifes' VW polo, just because the smell is so bad.

Is there a pollen filter?
where is the initial air duct, (on the bonnet, under bumper etc)?
My CCTV of the car does NOT show anyne messing around with the car!

Does it smell like vomit almost? I ask this because my friend has the same problem.

 

Recently had the same problem with a 2000 Cadilac. After taking it to two differnet detail shops and getting no-where. I took it to the Cadilac dealership, within one hour they found a problem with the AC unit or its gas. Afer repairinng the AC and repalcing the air filters the car is free of any objectional odor. They said that the problem isnt that uncommon.
