aftermarket radio check engine light

aftermarket radio check engine light
I need for someone to confirm this. I had a aftermarket Kenwood radio installed in my 1999 A6 Wagon 2.8. Well it has been brought to my attention that my car wont connect to the obd scan tool. We have confirmed that the Factory radio has a hook up to the OBD called a K Line wire. This wire is part of the OBD which scans the radio when a scan diagnostic machine is hooked up to your car to read for any problems (check engine light). Is their any way to keep this aftermarket Kenwood radio in my car with keeping the car OBD running normal without a check engine light on. Rember if the K line is not connected the car will not communicate with any Diagnostic machine.

RE: aftermarket radio check engine light
the K line also goes to the ECU and yes its a known issue with the aftermarket radios,
only thing I can think of a way round it is to connect the K line direct to the ECU because it must go through the radio then to the ECU
