I've been pondering this for a while: can you install an HID kit (for instance an upgrade kit from McCulloch) in these or only halogen bulbs?

Yes you can install an aftermarket HID kit for this application, but you are not able to use the OEM HID, as this headlight will be using a different bulb size (H1).

do you have any pics of these lights installed on a B7 (2008)?
what is the actual difference between the chrome and black housing?
can you tell me who the manufacturer is?

Facelift A4 refers to A4's after 1999. I have a 2001.

Hi, Sorry but i do not have picture of this headlight installed.
The Chrome housing, The housing of the headlgiht will be Chrome, and the black housing, the housing will be Black.
