Default Timing Belt service

My Audi guys quoted me $1100 for my 90,000m service. Does this seem high to anyone or about right?

seems little high but expected from dealership. 2.7 is pain to do. try asking independent service dealer see what they will do.

if its from the dealer it seems right.. But if its from an independent shop, it seems high. I got my timing belt and waterpump changed for $500.

On a 2.7 allroad??

I thought dealerships charged quite a bit more than 1k. I found a local guy that would do mine for just a hair over 1,000.

I got it changed on a 2001 audi a6 2.7t quattro for 500. Dealers charge anywhere from 1500 and beyond.. So i got a pretty good deal. It really depends on where you live. I checked in both Colorado and California. In California independent shops want around a 1000 and up. But in Colorado they were fairly cheap. So i just got it done from there when i went to go visit my dad.

Wow... I wish I could find a shop to do a $500 timing belt change! Anything around $1000 seems like a deal around here. (and given the work needed to do the timing belt... I'm not really suprised)

I did this on my A6 wagon and was not a bad job. Parts came to around $400 and my own time. Does the front end of the AR need to go into the service lock carrier position or can it be doneas is withoutmoving the front end?My A6 has tons of room in front, but the wife's A4 had to be moved. My next ride will be a AR and I just want to know what i'd be up against with this project.
thanks

When I did the A4 it took as long to get it into the service position as it did to change the belt/pump and stuff. With my A6 I was able to start right away on the motor.I think the A6 has more front end over hang then the ARandmay havemore working room. I can almost get a soccer ball between the motor and radiator.
The cam/crank locking tools are money well spent.
