suspension air compressor----wtf?
how many of you have cracked open your problem compressor? what a pos! the connecting rod is fused to the piston. this does not only create up and down friction, it twists in the cylinder also. no wonder they wear out so soon. the so called piston ring is a hard plastic material that is vulnerable to heat and wear. also the valve on top of the piston has a tendency to shift, therefore not sealing properly. to replace these parts should cost no more than 50.00. wabco needs to provide a parts kit. for those of you spending 1000.00 plus on a compressor....look at alternatives. looking for a parts kit now or going to replace the pump with something else. i am in portland oregon, i love my allroad, doing whatever it takes to make it bulletproof. tim 503-515-6451
