Default Put on a new rim, now all kinds of warning lights!!

Hi All,

I have a 2003 Allroad that I have owned for about 3 months. I recently had to replace one of the rims, and since then I keep getting a bunch of warning lights coming on. The ABS/Traction Control/Suspension ones come on about every other time I drive the car. The Tire Pressure "unable to identify wheel" (or something to that effect) is on all the time.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Thanks,
Becky

Is the new rim TPMS compatible with your system? Does the new rim even have it.?Did you try storing the tire pressure

It is a factory rim from Audi, so you would think that it would have everything that it needs. I did try storing the tire pressure and I get the same error.

I would double check wether it has the censor or not.It was an option.Don't put to much confidence in the dealer.

Just a stab in the dark here... but is it possible that the mechanic didn't put the car into "jack mode" before putting on the new rim?

Its easy to damage the sensor with a pry bar when taking off the wheel, take the car back to the tire shop where you bought it and have them take off that wheel and inspect the tire pressure sensor. If it has a crack on it or something they owe you a new sensor. They aren't cheap either.

It was the dealer that mounted the tire, but so far I haven't heard many good things about dealers, lol. Thanks for your help!
