Default 402 Suspension Mod

Has anyone done the 402 Suspension Mod with the Vag-Com, specifically lowering ride height by 17mm in front and 13mm in rear? I'm thinking of finding someone with the Vag-Com to do this for me but am really curious about others' experience. Thanks.

Never heard of the mod but i can tell you lowering that much is gonna make it ride really rough.

Thanks white fish. Is the ride better or worse than on level 1 setting? Did you drop the front more than the rear? (Which should increase the front roll stiffness). Any other tips or things from your experience?

Seems like a plug and play mod. How long does it take?

Anybody got the complete how-to?

Also how much of a drop on the front axle is safe to drive?
Not looking to lower the rear end...

That's the information I was planning to use to do the lowering, but wanted to hear from anyone who has actually done it and what their real experience is.

Lowering by the amounts shown in the mod will drop the front end a little more and should increase the front end roll stiffness. The amount of lowering should just move all the ride-height levels down by one, so new Level 2 is like factory Level 1, new 3 is like old 2, new 4 is like old 3. The theoretical advantages are for a car that is on pavement, by getting the ride height down a little. The factory spec Level 1 is still a little higher than many cars and sure appears to have plenty of room and suspension travel to drop it by 17 mm in front and 13mm in rear.

Has anyone done it?

Default I did 15mm in front 12mm in rear.

I did 15mm in front 12mm in rear. The ride was rougher and lot bouncier but it handled better. But I didnt like it so i reversed it.
I wouldnt recommend 402 mod if you have bad road surfaces in local area. 402 mod could damage your bags.

It took me 5-10 minutes to do it.
When I did 402 mod, i also did convenience mod(aka KEY FOB) and i'm loving it.

Here's a pic of my ar with 402 mod(15f12r.)

Thanks very much for sharing your experience ccomengee86. That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. One further question: When you did the mod and if you set the ride height at Level 2, how did it compare to the factory spec level 1 for ride height and for ride quality? Would modded level 2 compensate for the rough roads?

Thanks for the pic, too. Car looks great!
