4.2 Exhaust System
Anyone running an aftermarket system?
Need more sound for my AR - thought about replacing the middle mufflers with straight pipes - or a small flowmaster.
Any pros or cons?

IF you want to get any sound out of an audi engine you have to modify/remove both the front resonators and rear mufflers.
For instance, if you just replace the rear mufflers with magnaflows or flowmasters you will hardly even hear any difference, the stock resonators are super restrictive.
The best combination for a deep rich tone would be to eliminate the resonators and having two custom mufflers used in the rears.
MYD WGN plans on using a flowmaster set up, by leaving out the resonators he can tune the sound of his exhaust by selecting which series flowmaster he wants to get, 40,50, or 60 series, whichever one he decides its gonna sound bad ***.

yeah, removing the resonator is a must... I had just rear mufflers from Remus at first and it almost sounded stock, got strait pipes in place of the mid resonator and bam, it now sounds amazing. If you do flowmasters, post a vid for sure, I would like to hear what they sound like on an Audi V8...
