RE: 87 coupe gt opinion
I have an 86 Special Edition coupe with quite a few mods made over the past few years. I love driving the car to work in the summer and out on the track at Audi driving events. Car now has about 150k with quite a few hours of track time on it and almost no major work other than the mods I have made. If you're thinking of mods I'd start with suspension and go from there.

nice cars, but at the age and cost I would rather get a 91' 200q sedan or wagon...still they will most likely all need serious work, and yes definitely suspension will be a much appreciated upgrade as they are all mushy. The coupes are really cool though and uniqueness is always appreciated...Mechanically they are pretty straightforward, be sure to inspect thoroughly prior to purchase, better to start off with a better car than a junker...

I like the body, overall its a solid car. but its already past its moding. So like it be expensive to do. never cars like 200 might be easier to mod becouse its newer but again getting closer to 2000 makes it easier to mod becouse market is open.
On suspension I would get stronger sway bar. Engine is new turbo and up the boost (fuel needes to up too). take out evrything from inside, no heat no AC no seats no radio all out and do a roll cage and 5 point seat belts or 7 and race seats. and lower the body, get a helmet and go race the car. If I would have Space to store second car, I would definatly do that.
