Ok, I am having an issue with my car and I am stumped. Please help out… Here is the deal I have a 2005 1.8T USP with a K&N Air filter, EvoMS DV, APR 1+ chipped with Bosch TT injectors. When I accelerate in all gears the car seems to be making a cracking sound. It does it mainly when I get on it little and now it is mostly cracking all the time on acceleration. I took it to the dealer and they didn’t know what was wrong mainly because it isn’t throwing any codes or a CEL. Please help if you have any info… Thanks

 

what do you mean by cracking? and does it do it while the engine is cold or hot or both? low gear/high gear? and where is the sound coming from?

 

It does it when the car is warm and when the car starts to boost. the crackling kinda sounds like spark knocking or something. Kinda sounds like one of the crackling fireworks. It does it when I am giving it a good amount of gas but when I let off alittle bit it stops. I just changed the fuel filter and spark plugs about 1500 miles ago maybe thinking it could be one of these.
