take off the ram intake from the top of the grill to the airbox. take opff the plactic cover for the airbox (popps off)

take off the heat shield (4 screws on teh side of the airbox)

take out the plug for the MAF. this is under a rubber top thingy on the airbox. pry the rubber off. then stick a smim flathead into the MAF plug gently and ull ehar a click. then just slidt the plug for the MAF out.

then take off the 2 pipes on the front of the airbox. one has a screw clamp, thats the intake. the smaller pipe had a crimp clamp on it. just tug on it and it should come off. dont lose the rubber gasket. make sure u dont get crap into ur intake hose. that could spell trouble for ur turbo

then remove the top of the airbox. there are 4 latches around it ( i think 4). just pop em back wiht ur finger, then pull the top of the airbox through the wires being carefull not to break em.

then take the big rectangle filter out of the box.

on the left of the box, against the wall, the box should be bolted to the frame of the car. unbolt that. now just tug. the bottom of the box is held on by 2 rubber things that are like arrows poking into the airbox. tug and they pop out

merry x-mas, no airbox

Audicross, he is not talking aboutthe airbox or air intake.

The intake manifold is what the throttle body is connected to, on the top right of the engine. the hose from the SMIC connects to the TB, which is connected to the intake manifold.

I checked, i only see a write up for removing the v6 manifold. Do you have a haynes or bently manual? If not, buy one, its the best money you will spend, espercially if you are getting into stuff like this.

Anyone out there removed the intake mani before?

partially drain coolant, and remove expansion tank
detach throttle cable, cruise control actuator rod
label and detach elctrical connections from TB
remove intercooler hose from tb (duh)
relieve fuel pressure, remove fuel rail, and injectors
remove upper coolant pipe from engine, and coolant hoses from TB
label and detach vacuum lines (brake booster, etc.)
remove intake mani lower support brace
remove mounting bolts
Stop and drink at least one Sam Adams
then re-install with new gasket, making sure to scrape of old shiznit from mani and clean
torque in 3-4 steps to factory spec from center out
then read this backwards and put it all back together.

honestly, go get a $15 haynes. I would never try this one without a guide in front of me for all the details.
