Default How to reprogram the switchblade key

The following instructions are to reprogram your switchblade key fob.

1. Take a spare key and insert it into the ignition. Turn it one click forward.

2. Roll down your window just in case. Step outside the car, and lock the car with a second key.

3. With your second key fob press the unlock button. The lights should flash.

4. Now lock the car with the key fob, and then unlock it.

5. Remove the key from the lock and the key from the ignition, and try it's function.

Welcome back Jared. This should be a sticky, and JESTNOMEN
should be a monitor.

Well, this worked for one application
Car would continue to run but the "car/key light" on dash would continue to flash.
After shutting down engine, locking doors, unlocking doors and trying to restart the system would NOT stay running.
Any suggestions..?

Default Works to an extent

This is the proper way to program the keys, however, every time one key is programmed the other deactivates. I cannot understand the reason behind this. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've tried the technique described in this thread with my 04 A4 with no success. I'm wondering if its because I never had a fob key. I bought my car with only a valet key and finally ordered a switchblade from the local Audi dealer. So I don't have ANY programmed key with buttons on it. Am i stuck paying the dealer an arm and a leg to get a convenient key for my car?

Thanks all.

Default My Key fob is messing up

Hey guys I need Help. DUring the past week my Keyfob went out meaning it wouldnt unlock or lock my car. i tought it might have been that batteries but i just replaced them about a month ago. I went to the neareast autozone and the have a tester that indicates if you battery is low. My key fob appears to be fine as far as battery wise. please help not having keyless entry sux. I recently changed my spark plugs and disconneted the battery. I dont know if any of that had something to do with it. and today when i tried to turn on my car the antitheft goes crazy after 5 mins it went off. I kind of concern with this problem. Please HElLP.

Several different signal hertz are used on cars, the codes for the hertz is on the portion of the fob that separates from the key. If you have problems chances are you have a different frequency and neither you are the dealer can program it to work. The proper one will program just like outline above.

I had a usable key fob for my 1999 A4 quatra and wanted to program a second fob. I went to the dealer and the end result was neither one worked. They said the electonic module in the drivers door that controled the system was malfunctioning and the part cost over $400 plus installation. Now I use the key to lock and unlock my doors and use the key in the trunck lock to set the alarm.
