Default Flex pipe repair

I have repaired several flex pipes on the 2.8s. You can order the flex joints from Vibrant performance. I used the 2.25 inch by 4 for the 2.8. cut the old one out with a sawz all and mig in the new one. Total time per side: about 1.5 hours with out a lift. Total cost: about 25 dollars. Not having to replace a cat: Priceless!!!

Default Flex Pipe repair for 2002 A6 3.0 Quattro

Does the 2.8 have the same size flex pipe as the 3.0? The exhaust is different I believe.

Thanks,

Pete

Default Flex pipe repair

I am not aware of the pipe sizing for the 3.0. However, the concept is still the same. If you only need the flex portion of the pipe, measure the outside diameter of the pipe and the overall length of the flex joint, and replace it. Not so hard!
